Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Middle East Tech Institution collects through metinstitution.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it.
Last updated: 3 August 2026
1. Who we are
Middle East Tech Institution ("we", "us", "the institution") operates the website metinstitution.com and provides online technology education to students across the Middle East and beyond.
We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights set out in section 7, write to contact@metinstitution.com. We answer every message from this address within one business day.
2. What information we collect
We only collect what you actively send us. Specifically:
Information you give us in a form
- Your name and email address (required to reply to you)
- Your phone or WhatsApp number, if you choose to provide it
- Your country or city, if you choose to provide it
- The programme, bundle or mentorship option you are interested in
- Your stated experience level, if you choose to provide it
- The content of the message you write
Information collected automatically
Our web host records standard server logs, which typically include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and diagnostics, not by us for tracking you.
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not use tracking pixels. If we add analytics in future, this policy will be updated before it goes live and you will see a cookie notice.
Fonts
Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. This means your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which will see your IP address. If you would prefer this not to happen, the fonts can be hosted locally instead — tell us and we will prioritise it.
Affiliate links
During live teaching sessions, and occasionally in course material, we recommend third-party tools and services that we genuinely use and teach. Some of those recommendations use affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you go on to buy through them, at no extra cost to you.
If you follow such a link, the merchant or its affiliate network — not us — may set a cookie in your browser to record that the referral came from us. That cookie is governed by their privacy policy, not this one, and we never receive your payment details. We receive only aggregate reporting about referrals and commissions, which does not identify you personally.
Following an affiliate link is always optional, and declining costs you nothing in your programme. See our affiliate disclosure for how and when we tell you a link is an affiliate link.
3. Why we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and answer your questions
- To advise you on which programme suits your situation
- To arrange enrolment, scheduling and payment for a programme or session
- To provide the education you have paid for, including access and support
- To keep records required for accounting and tax purposes
- To protect the website against spam and abuse
We will not send you marketing email unless you have separately and clearly agreed to receive it. Replying to your enquiry is not the same as adding you to a mailing list, and we do not treat it that way.
4. Our legal basis
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent, given when you tick the box on a form; the performance of a contract, once you enrol; and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the institution and its website.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers necessary to run the institution:
- Our web host, which stores this website and transmits form submissions to our email address
- Our email provider, which delivers and stores our correspondence with you
- Our payment provider, if you enrol — card details are entered on their secure page and are never seen or stored by us
- Our live session platform, if you become a student, to give you access to classes
- Affiliate networks, only if you choose to click an affiliate link we have shared — and then only the referral information their own cookie records, never your enquiry or student data
- Government authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to enrolment: up to 24 months, then deleted
- Student records: for the duration of your access, plus the period our accounting obligations require
- Financial records: as required by applicable tax law
- Server logs: as set by our host's retention period, typically a matter of weeks
7. Your rights
You may ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Provide a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave
Write to contact@metinstitution.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you for this and we will not make it difficult.
8. Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted to our email address and are not stored in a public database on the server. Access to enquiries and student records is limited to the people at the institution who need it.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant authority as required by law.
9. Children
Our programmes are intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection is in place.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will contact you directly rather than rely on you noticing.
12. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy: contact@metinstitution.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
