Affiliate Disclosure
We teach real tools, so we recommend real tools. Some of those recommendations earn us a commission. This page explains exactly when that happens, what it costs you (nothing), and the rules we hold ourselves to so a commission never decides what we teach.

The short version
Middle East Tech Institution participates in affiliate programmes. When we recommend a tool during a live session or in course material, we may share a link that earns us a commission if you buy through it — at no additional cost to you. We say so at the time, every time. You are never required to use our link, and nothing about your programme changes if you do not.
Why we use affiliate links at all
Our programmes teach a professional toolchain — hosting, page builders, plugins, design software, developer services. Students ask us which one to buy, because that is a genuinely difficult question and getting it wrong is expensive. Answering it properly is part of the teaching.
Where the company behind a tool we already teach runs an affiliate programme, we join it. The commission is paid by the merchant out of their marketing budget. It is not added to your price, and in many cases our link carries a discount that makes it cheaper than going direct.
Where you will encounter them
Most of our recommendations happen in teaching rather than on this website. Specifically:
- Live sessions. Where a session covers a tool with an affiliate programme, the instructor states the affiliate relationship out loud at the start of that session, and it is repeated in the session chat alongside the link itself.
- Session recordings. Carry the same spoken disclosure, because the disclosure is made in the session rather than added afterwards.
- Course material and resource lists. Any affiliate link is labelled inline as an affiliate link at the point it appears — not in a footnote and not at the bottom of the page.
- The student community. Any link we post that earns a commission is marked in the message that contains it.
- Email. Same rule: marked in the message, next to the link.
A disclosure buried in a footer, a bio or a linked page is not good enough, and we do not rely on one. The disclosure travels with the recommendation.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- We only recommend what we teach. If a tool is not in a curriculum or is not something we would use on a real project, it does not get recommended, whatever the commission.
- Commission never changes the curriculum. No tool has ever been added to a programme, or given more time in one, because it pays. Where the best answer for a student is a free tool with no affiliate programme, that is what we say — and much of what we teach is exactly that.
- We say when the free option is enough. Our programmes are explicitly designed to be completable on free tiers. We will tell you when paying is genuinely worth it and when it is not.
- We disclose before the recommendation, not after.
- We never require you to buy anything beyond the programme fee itself, except where a third-party cost is unavoidable and disclosed up front on the programme page — for example Apple and Google developer account fees in the Mobile App Development programme.
- Your grades, certificate and support are unaffected. Whether you use our link, a different link, or no link, nothing about your experience changes.
What we earn, and what we do not receive
Commission rates vary by programme and are set entirely by the merchant. We never see your payment details, card information or billing address — those go directly to the merchant. What we receive is aggregate reporting: how many referrals converted and what commission is owed. That reporting does not identify you personally.
If you would like to know whether a specific recommendation is an affiliate link before you act on it, ask us. We will tell you straight, and we will not think less of the question.
Cookies
If you follow an affiliate link, the merchant or its affiliate network may place a cookie in your browser recording that the referral came from us, typically lasting somewhere between 24 hours and 90 days depending on the programme. That cookie is set by them and governed by their privacy policy, not ours. This website itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
Not a substitute for your own judgement
Our recommendations are opinions formed from teaching and building with these tools. They are not financial, legal or business advice. Prices, features, free tiers and terms change without notice, and a tool that suits most students may not suit your specific case. Check the current terms with the merchant before you buy, and ask us if you are unsure.
Questions or concerns
If you think a recommendation was not properly disclosed, or that something we suggested was not in your interest, tell us at contact@metinstitution.com. We will look into it and correct it. Getting this wrong would cost us far more than any commission is worth.
