Mobile App Development

Build real cross-platform apps with React Native and Expo — and actually publish them. Most mobile courses stop at the simulator. This one ends with your app live in the App Store and on Google Play, review process included.

What this programme is really for

There is a large gap between a working app on your laptop and an app a stranger can download. Signing, provisioning, store guidelines, screenshots, privacy declarations, review rejections — these are where most self-taught mobile developers give up, and they are exactly what we walk you through.

We teach React Native because one codebase serving both platforms is what most clients and small teams actually need, and because your JavaScript knowledge transfers directly. Flutter gets an honest crash track so you can evaluate it yourself rather than take our word for it.

Questions about this programme

No — and this is one of the main reasons we teach with Expo. EAS Build compiles iOS builds in the cloud, so you can develop and publish to the App Store from Windows or Linux. You will want an iPhone or iPad to test on, but it does not have to be yours; borrowing one for testing sessions is perfectly workable.

They are not, and we want to be clear about that before you enrol. Apple charges an annual developer fee and Google charges a one-time registration fee; both are paid directly to the platforms and are outside our control. You only need them for the publishing module — everything before that runs free on simulators and your own device.

It happens to experienced developers regularly, so we treat it as part of the process rather than a failure. Module eleven covers the common rejection reasons in detail, and if yours is rejected during the capstone, bring the rejection notice to the live session and we will work through the response together.
